Dier is yet to feature for Tottenham since Ange Postecoglou took charge
Thishas led to doubts about his future. The
fact he is into the final year of his contract in north
London does not help his chances of staying
at Spurs either.
Crystal Palace were recently said to have
registered their interest in Dier. However, it
appears they now face competition from a
London rival in the shape of Fulham.
According to RMC Sport, Fulham have taken
an interest in the 29-year-old. Marco Silva
rates him for his versatility, which allows
him to be an option in either defence or midfield.
It is perhaps in defence that Dier would be
most useful to Fulham, since they are
bracing themselves for the departure of
Adarabioyo, who is similarly into the final
year of his contract.
Tottenham have coincidentally been
showing an interest in Adarabioyo, but he
would prefer to join Monaco. However,
Fulham have been pushing for him to go to
Spurs instead – as has his agent.

With Dier now potentially on offer in
return, it is becoming clearer why Fulham
would rather do business with their Premier
League rivals.
But Adarabioyo would be in line to earn a
better salary at Monaco than Tottenham –
having already agreed a salary – and is also
convinced he would get more regular
gametime in Ligue 1. Indeed, at Monaco, he
could fill the void left by Chelsea new boy, Axel Disasi.
Monaco fail to find agreement with Fulham
for Adarabioyo
However, Fulham have rejected two offers
from Monaco so far. The most recent was
worth €10m (£8.6m). Their positive relations
with Tottenham could open up a potential
part-exchange deal before the transfer
window closes instead.
Funnily enough, the recent report detailing
Crystal Palace‘s interest in Dier also
suggested Monaco as suitors for him,
although RMC Sport has not made any such
reference.
Dier has made more than 350 appearances
for Tottenham since joining them from
Sporting CP almost a decade ago. A new
challenge could be due for the England
international, though.
Tottenham have been aiming to evolve their
defence this summer and recently signed
Micky van de Ven from Wolfsburg with that
in mind. If they offload Dier, it would make
sense for them to target an additional
reinforcement for their rearguard.
At the age of 25, Adarabioyo could become a
long-term successor to Dier at the
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. But
Postecoglou’s side have their work cut out to
convince him to make the move.
