The Cleveland Browns are signing quarterback Joe Flacco to their practice squad, according to team sources. ESPN was the first to report the news. Here’s what you need to know.

Flacco worked out for the Browns on Friday after the team lost starting quarterback Deshaun Watson for the season with a shoulder injury. Rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson started for Cleveland against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, P.J. Walker. The Browns improved to 7-3 and moved into second place in the AFC North after a 13-10 win over the Steelers. Why did Cleveland make this decision? The Browns have had days to evaluate their options, and the team focused on Flacco before their practice late last week. He brings experience to the quarterback room and his comfort level on offense will grow over the next two weeks. The Browns will immediately move from next week’s game in Denver to Los Angeles, where they will spend the entire week before their Week 13 game against the Rams.
