Done Deal: Denver Broncos ownership move fast to complete $215M Star trade before 48hours….

NFL trade rumors: Some Broncos players believe a potential deal is coming and  The disappointing start to the 2023 season continued for the Denver Broncos after Sunday’s loss to the New York Jets, and it looks like there could soon be consequences.

According to NFL Network’s James Palmer, some Broncos players believe significant roster changes are coming.

Being there yesterday, I could sense from the players in the locker room that there was a possible explosion coming, andquot; Palmer said. andquot; That’s how some players feel.

After falling to 1-4, Denver is on the verge of another losing season, hardly what the franchise expected when Sean Payton was hired as head coach this offseason.

Palmer noted that roster moves could happen “before the trade deadline” and he pointed to Friday’s trade for veteran quarterback Randy Gregory as concerns for other players.

That move… that and that really upset this group, if you ask me, talking to the players was and#039;Okay, now Sean Payton and#039; comes in and starts to sort of do things and#039;andquot; Palmer said.

The Broncos held a five-point lead at halftime before falling to the Jets 31-21. Denver struggled to run the ball as they went -18 yards on their first five possessions of the second half.

The team and defense weren’t much better, allowing the Jets to run over Breece Hall’s 72-yard touchdown run on New York’s first possession of the third quarter. Payton took over a team that was 5-12 last season.

His pairing with veteran quarterback Russell Wilson initially seemed like a perfect fit, but things fell apart when the 2023 campaign began.

The Broncos have been unable to find consistency on offense and their defense is last in the NFL, averaging 450.6 yards per game from opponents.

Denver will look to turn its fortunes around when it returns to Thursday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs.
