Officials reviewed Donovan Mitchell’s hit on Draymond Green for a flagrant foul. They dismissed Green. In the third quarter of the 118-110 victory of the Cleveland Cavaliers over the Golden State Warriors,

Green collided with Mitchell without the officials calling foul, where Caris Levert calls the break. At the other end, Mitchell ran over and pushed Green back, sparking a confrontation and triggering a replay.

Instead of Mitchell receiving an extra penalty – the referees called his push an obvious foul – Green received a technical, his second of the game. That gave him his first shot and third technical foul of the season.

Green responded with his usual exuberant energy after the disqualification, clapping and urging the crowd as if desperate to proclaim “I’m not crazy!” Meanwhile, Mitchell got the perfect revenge. He had to reject Green and it was Green who was kicked out. Green was in the deficit in just 17 minutes, Mitchell scored 21 points in 36 minutes.

It’s the second straight home loss for the Warriors and the second game where the referees had a lot to do with the outcome. What can they do? First, stop pushing people. Or this team will be eliminated by the title contenders.
