Golden State Warriors welcomes Former Player , who says coming to the Team was a never a β€œbig dealβ€œ for Him

Chris Paul received the β€œsaddest” reception for the Golden State Warriors since the NBA trade.Β

Β The Golden State Warriors acquired one of the best guards in NBA history last month, but their announcement of his signing has been met with a lot of disrespect since the trade. The deal to send CP3 to the Warriors became official last week when the team moved on from Jordan Poole after he signed a huge contract extension last season. The deal appeared to be one the Warriors were willing to make to get rid of Poole’s contract, rather than see the point guard as a player to help them return to the championship. Paul, 38, is still one of the best players at his position in the league and one of the best ever to do it. But fans felt the Warriors’ official announcement of his confirmation as the latest signing seemed a little disrespectful.Β

Β A few days after the Washington Wizards made the trade official and Poole held a press conference after joining the team, the Warriors released a photo of Paul holding a crumpled Warriors jersey in what appeared to be a blurry room with no background. Another perspective was shared on social media, showing Paul literally about six feet away from the bin – hardly worthy of his legendary status.Β

Fans on Twitter took to the comments

section to slam the Warriors for their

efforts, with many sharing the same

message: β€œCP3 deserves better.” The deal

was always going to be interesting, as Paul

played the same position as the team’s

legitimate superstar in Steph Curry, and it

was suggested that the point guard could

come off the bench for the first time in his

career.

The Warriors could also choose to move

Curry to shooting guard, using Klay

Thompson as a new-look power forward.

But Paul is looking for a change, having yet

to win a championship in his illustrious

career. He told NBA Today, β€œThat’s the only

thing missing (winning a championship),

that’s pretty clear. I’m in my 19th season

and every season it’s been the same plan, go

and try to win a championship. It’s not going

to happen . . . It will happen this Season
