The Atlanta Falcons have seen many changes in recent seasons, but one constant has been defensive lineman Grady Jarrett.

After years of waiting for the team to finally add talent on defense, Jarrett’s season was unfortunately cut short with a torn ACL in Week 8.

The former fifth-round pick underwent successful knee surgery on Tuesday and thanked his fans and supporters in a post-procedure social media post:

“Thank you to all my family, friends, fans, supporters and brothers! Support and best wishes as you overcome this next challenge. I feel love and prayers. In time, the best is yet to come,” Jarrett wrote in the message. The Falcons struggled without Jarrett in the middle of the defense. Atlanta couldn’t stop Vikings quarterback Josh Dobbs in Week 9, just a week after getting burned by Titans rookie Will Levis.

Atlanta faces the Arizona Cardinals in Week 10, and quarterback Kyler Murray is expected to make his season debut.
