Mike Florio Posted November 25, 2023 at 11:42 am It’s impossible to stop the Eagles from gaining yards with their quarterback’s push game.

It is apparently impossible to prevent them from trademarking a single term describing the play.

Per John George of the Philadelphia Business Journal, the Eagles must compete for the legal rights to the Brother Shove.

The Eagles applied for the trademark on October 10th. Two others also filed: Inspired Synergy of Brigantine, New Jersey and Lawrence Caplan of Boca Raton, Florida.

The Eagles hope to acquire the rights to the phrase “merchandise, including shirts, jackets, sweaters and hats.” All three applications are currently pending before the US Patent and Trademark Office.

It remains to be seen if the rule allowing the game will come under league review. Fair play so far. And only the Eagles perfected it. As explained recently on PFT Live,

other teams need to find and develop offensive players who can run and defensive players who can stop it. So far, the Eagles are a team that has shortened the stick from ten yards to nine or even eight.
