Gary Neville rubbishes claims ‘desperate’
Glazers have abandoned sale of Man Utd
resh reports that the Glazer family have
pulled out of selling Manchester United have
been dismissed by Gary Neville.
The Red Devils legend believes the club’s owners are “desperate” for investment despite claims they are ready to turn down bids from both Sheikh Jassim and Jim Ratcliffe for the team.
A report in the Mail on Sunday details the Glazers’ plans to take United off the market
and attempt to sell again in a few years’ time.
Both the Qatari Sheikh and Oldham-born
businessman Ratcliffe have been in takeover
talks for months, with their rival offers
worth in the region of £5billion.
However, it is now said the Glazers want
closer to £10bn with a new round of talks
further down the line.
Injured Partey ruled out ‘for a while’ as Arsenal prepare to face Man United
Neville is intent on seeing United sold after years of discontent between fans and the owners, and said ahead of United’s trip to Arsenal on Sunday that he remains confident the Americans will be forced to welcome new investment.
“I don’t believe the Glazers not selling/doing anything story,” he wrote on social media.
“They have to do something. They’ve run
out of money and the financial situation is
desperate. They need investment in. They’re
also having a toxic impact on the club from the inside out.
“The negligence continues for now but I
don’t think it can go on without some action
on raising funds. Also who would come in as
a minority alongside them with the damage
it would do to their reputation.”
