Lloris has been a loyal servant of Tottenham since joining in August 2012 and has since played 444 times. However, Tottenham did not win a major trophy in that time and Lloris’ only silverware came on the international stage with France. The quality of Lloris’ performances have declined in recent years, which is understandable given that he is now 36 years old. Although the Nice-born star was number one for the likes of Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte, he was beaten by new boss Ange Postecoglou. Spurs snapped up Italian marksman Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli in the summer and Postecoglou has handed him a starting role. This decision worked wonders as Vicario formed a strong partnership with the likes of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero before the former was injured. Lloris is struggling to even make the Spurs bench as Fraser Forster has established himself as Vicario’s replacement. The writing was on Lloris’ wall when Postecoglou benched the inexperienced Brandon Austin for the Premier League opener against Brentford when Forster was sidelined with a back injury. But Spurs chairman Daniel Levy had other ideas as he was determined to secure the World Cup winner’s fee. However, due to Lloris’ age, no club wanted to pay the asking price and this frustrated the goalkeeper. Football Insider has now provided their information on Lloris. They claim that Spurs want to resolve the situation once and for all by “leaving” his contract in the near future. Hugo Lloris is allowed to leave Tottenham Levy is happy to hand Lloris a big fee to reward him for his loyalty to the north London side.

Finally, the move frees up space in Postecoglou’s squad. The report does not say where Lloris will go next or if he will hang up his gloves. If Lloris decides to continue playing, he could start talks with former Nice or Saudi Arabia Pro League officials. Both sides tried to sign him in the summer, but the transfers fell through. Lloris is not the only senior player who could leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in January. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been targeted by Ajax after it emerged Juventus will not sign him, while Eric Dier is rumored to be under investigation from Bayern Munich and Roma.
