Angel Reese didn’t offer many details about the ongoing LSU saga, but a six-word post appeared on social media dismissing reports of his imprisonment and mysterious departure from the team.

AD “Don’t believe everything you read,” Reese wrote in X magazine. Reese, who became one of the stars of women’s college basketball when the Tigers won the NCAA Tournament in April,

sat out LSU’s game against Kent State on Tuesday and did not play Friday against Southeastern Louisiana.

Reese’s post about X came one day after he posted a photo of the LSU court with a cart full of basketballs to his Instagram story, though he didn’t provide context for the photo or clarify whether it meant practicing with the team.

AD According to LSU head coach Kim Mulkey, the strange streak began Tuesday when Reese scored 11 points in 13 minutes against Kent State but was shut down by a coaching decision in the final two quarters.

when Reese didn’t even wear a Tigers uniform in his game, his position took a strange turn.

AD “You want me to explain why? It’s very clear that Angel was in bad shape,” Mulkey said after Friday’s game. “Angelo is a part of this basketball team and we hope to see him sooner rather than later.”

LSU, which won the national championship behind Reese last season and became a contender again in 2023-24, lost in the opening round to then-No. 20 Colorado before winning its last five games.

AD What do you think? Post a comment. Reese is No. 7 on On3.com’s Zero 100 at $1.7 million, behind only Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter, USC quarterback Caleb Williams, Texas quarterback Arch Manning,

LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders and USC basketball freshman. –

and the son of LeBron James – Bronny James. LSU hosts Texas Southern on Monday, and at this point it is unclear if Reese will return to the lineup.
