MAN UNITED ACCEPTS WEST HAM’S £30 MILLION OFFER FOR HARRY MAGUIRE
According to reports, Manchester United has
agreed to West Ham’s £30 million ($38
million) deal for center-back Harry Maguire.
Fabrizio Romano, a soccer source, predicts
that West Ham and Maguire will shortly
begin contract talks. The 30-year-old
England international is still debating
whether or not he wants to sign with the
Hammers, so the trade is still some distance
from being finalised.
Man United’s head coach Erik Ten Hag has
already told Maguire earlier this offseason
that he will have a hard time cracking the
starting lineup. The player reportedly would
prefer to remain at Old Trafford and fight
for his place in the team but knows that the
lack of playing time might cost him a spot
with the England national team.
Harry Maguire still holds the title of world’s
most expensive defender after he made a
£80 million move from Leicester City to
Manchester United in 2019. However, the
move didn’t work out the way the Premier
League powerhouse expected, as Maguire
was error-prone and never brought the
expected stability to the defense.
Maguire lost his place in the team last
season, making only eight Premier League
starts. He was also replaced as the team’s
captain earlier this summer, which
indicated that Manchester United is ready to
move on.
