Butler missed practice Tuesday with the left calf he suffered in Monday’s loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves and did not travel with the team. He is considered day-to-day and has not been ruled out for Friday’s home game against the Atlanta Hawks. Kevin Love will miss Wednesday’s game with a stomach ailment. He went to the doctor on Tuesday and there is no timetable for his return. Both Butler and Love started Monday’s game against the Timberwolves. Butler has played a season-high nine straight games, including back-to-back games for the first time this season (Dec. 13-14). It will be his first absence since November. 28 when the Heat started Josh Richardson instead of Butler in a loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. Love, who came off the bench in 16 of the previous 17 games before Monday’s opener, could be replaced at power forward by Haywood Highsmith or Caleb Martin. Kyle Lowry will return against the Magic after Monday’s game. The Heat recently got Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo back after long absences and were close to a fully healthy roster (except for backup Dru Smith, who will miss the season with a knee injury) for the first time this season before Butler’s struggles. and love
