WNBA star Layshia Clarendon underwent successful breast surgery.
The basketball player, who identifies as transgender and non-binary, made the announcement on social media on Friday, January 29.
He said he had the procedure done on January 13 and is recovering well.
Layshia Clarendon also expressed hope that the surgical process will inspire trans people. She wrote on Twitter: “I’m usually not afraid to share the news publicly, but the amount of hate, myths and ignorance really made me want to share this joy. Advertising

Responding to the tweet, WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert wrote, “Layshia’s story is inspiring and encouraging, and based on the emotional conversation we had recently, I hope the full support of the WNBA extends far beyond this league.
“We are so proud to have Layshia as a part of the WNBA and know that her voice and continued advocacy will not only support and help respect and uplift many other non-binary and trans people, but will also encourage empathy and understanding for the community at all levels. . about sports.”
