The Philadelphia Eagles’ Pro Bowl corner Darius Slay reportedly underwent knee surgery this week. However, the 32-year-old player won’t miss significant time and is expected to return before the 2023 regular season wraps up.

Slay started 12 games this season and was considered the bright spot in Philly’s underperforming secondary. He made 57 tackles and 14 pass deflections while also getting two picks and returning one for a touchdown.

The Eagles didn’t officially announce Slay’s surgery, although they listed him on their injury report. When asked about the veteran corner, Philadelphia’s head coach, Nick Sirianni, confirmed that Slay will miss the upcoming game against the Seattle Seahawks.

However, Sirianni refused to go into details about his plans for replacing Slay.

“Got the right guys. Got the right guys,” Sirianni said.

Last year’s undrafted free agent signing, Josh Jobe, is considered to have the best shot at getting the start against the Seahawks. Jobe, who already made three starts this year, has 20 tackles, four pass deflections, and one forced fumble in 13 games.

This year’s fourth-round selection, Kelee Ringo, could also get a nod. Ringo has mostly played on special teams so far in the season and has one fumble recovery to go with five tackles.
