“Seahawks Defense in Turmoil: Mike Jackson Takes the Reins as Riq Woolen Struggles Continue!”

On the Seahawks bench as Riq Woole’s issues continue to be addressed Mike Jackson, who started all of 2022, couldn’t hold onto his starting role in 2023,

but the issues plaguing the Seahawks defense have him back in the lineup, at least for now.

Los Angeles Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks  When the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers battle it out at Lumen Field on Thanksgiving,

with the winner clinching first place in the division, the Niners will have their way early in the game.

Just minutes into the second quarter, San Francisco is already up 14-3 and threatens to score again as the team continues to be plagued by the penalties, fumbles and issues that have plagued Seattle’s defense all season.

At least for now, though, the Seahawks have settled on 2022 rookie Riq Woolen, whose 2023 campaign was far from phenomenal, especially on the defensive end.

A little more than halfway through the season, he had already developed a reputation for not being able to finish,

often choosing to simply drop his shoulders and try to bring down opponents instead of using proper tackling form.

Now, however, his playing time appears to be reduced, at least for the foreseeable future, as Woolen was replaced by Mike Jackson against the Niners.

Whether it’s temporary for a quarter or a game, Field Gulls is here to keep readers updated on who’s filling which spot in Seattle’s defense.
