Legendary tight end Rob Gronkowski thinks it would be great to play for the Miami Dolphins.
The thought seems ridiculous, but the future Hall of Fame tight end has brilliant things to say about Miami’s offense.
The Miami Dolphins are setting offensive records this season, rivaling the likes of the 2007 New England Patriots and The Greatest Show on Turf.
It couldn’t be more deadly. Not unless Rob Gronkowski has something to say about it.
Speaking on The Ryen Russillo Podcast, the future Hall of Fame tight end said, “It would be pretty cool to play for the Miami Dolphins.”

“Mike McDaniel, he took that style of offense — he took it to a whole other level,” Gronkowski told The Ringer’s Ryen Russillo.
How would Gronkowski fit into an offense based on finding the fastest players in the league and running any defender in sight right at them?
“The only thing he’s missing is a tight end, and I feel like I could fit that situation,” Gronkowski explained.
“All these wide receivers are moving all over the place and then I’m there in the middle, wide open. So I think I would be a good fit.”
It’s hard to imagine an offense with Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and Raheem Mostert even more dangerous, especially given how effective McDaniel’s system has proven to be with lightning-quick playmakers married to Tagovailoa’s deadly accuracy.
Add arguably the greatest tight end of all time to the mix, and you’d think McDaniel and general manager Chris Grier would welcome the idea with open arms.
Gronkowski recently announced that he is 100% retired and that not even the return of Tom Brady will lure him from the couch and the analyst’s desk in an NFL studio.
Additionally, we’ve seen other players forcefully confirm their waivers to save the clips again.
Never say never, especially with a chance at another Super Bowl on the table, which many NFL experts believe this iteration of the Dolphins will deliver. Gronkowski is widely regarded as one of the NFL’s greatest tight ends of all time. The four-time first-team All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowler is a member of the All-Time Team of the Century of the NFL.
He finished his storied career, which included four Super Bowl rings with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with 621 receptions, 9,286 yards and 92 touchdowns.

Considered one of the greatest champions of all time, he is a four-time Super Bowl champion (XLIX, LI, LIII, LV), a five-time Pro Bowl selection, a four-time First Team All-Pro selection, and was named to the 2010 -dated All-Decade Team of the NFL and NFL 100 .anniversary All-Time Team.
We last saw Gronk in 2021 when Mike Evans had a career-high 14 completions next to him. Gronk’s last truly elite season (69 receptions for 1,084 yards and eight touchdowns) came in 2017 when fellow passer Brandin Cooks had a career-best 16.6.
Big threats benefited from Gronk’s presence. What would it look like in Miami with Gronk healthy and a legitimate threat? Hill has been a productive WR so far and his big play potential complements Gronk well.
Waddle, however, could see his already inconsistent production (one top-30 finish this season) take a significant hit.
Through five weeks, Waddle’s average depth of target is 36.1% lower than that of Hill and considering that Waddle hasn’t had a game with more than five catches since Week 8 of last season, his early season struggles wouldn’t be fixed any time soon.
