The summer transfer business for Manchester United is far from over as they strive for numerous further fresh arrivals with half a dozen players expected to leave Old Trafford.
Manchester United hosts Wolves today to
kick off their Premier League season, but
there are still plenty of signings and
departures to be made in the summer
transfer window.
Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Rasmus
Hojlund are just a few of the new recruits
Erik ten Hag has added to his team.
However, United and Fiorentina player
Sofyan Amrabat have spoken about the
latter joining the team as a new defender.
David de Gea, Alex Telles, Fred, Phil Jones,
Axel Tuanzebe, and Anthony Elanga have
already left the team, and West Ham and
Harry Maguire have reached an agreement
on a £30 million transfer cost.
Here is the latest transfer news from the red
half of Manchester.
Martial to hold United exit talks
Anthony Martial could leave Man United
this summer
United will hold transfer talks with Anthony
Martial after Inter and Fenerbahce joined
interest from West Ham in the striker.
Earlier this weekend, talkSPORT claimed
that talks between West Ham and United are
at a very early stage for the player but a deal
is possible – although any exit for Martial
would surely mean that United would aim to
sign a second striker following the arrival of
Hojlund.
Also keen on Martial are Inter, who have
lost loan signing Romelu Lukaku this
summer alongside Edin Dzeko – who has
joined Fenerbahce. The Turkish giants, who
have also signed Fred from Old Trafford this
week, are also keen on the striker.
Ajax keen on Van de Beek
Donny van de Beek of Manchester United
Donny van de Beek may return to his
former club Ajax this summer, although the
Dutch giants are unlikely to offer more than
a loan deal for the unwanted United
midfielder.
United have been in talks with Real
Sociedad over Van de Beek’s exit, but Ajax
are also now in the running. However, the
Sun report that the Dutch giants are only
able to fund a loan deal due to their current
financial situation.
Manchester United ’s official video game
partner, eFootball, has suggested that club
chiefs may have already decided to retain
Mason Greenwood this season.
Greenwood, 21, had charges of attempted
rape, engaging in controlling and coercive
behaviour, and assault occasioning actual
bodily harm dropped by the Crown
Prosecution Service in February. Since then,
United have been conducting an internal
investigation; discussing the prospect of
Greenwood’s return with their footballing
department, key stakeholders and sponsors.
Following his arrest, the developers of
eFootball made the decision to remove the
21-year-old’s name, avatar and virtual
player from their 2022 database. However,
he has been reinstated into the database for
this season.
