Calciomercato.it have claimed that
Tottenham Hotspur are now in a position
to sign Leeds United winger Wilfried
Gnonto over a number of Serie A sides.
Although Gnonto showed a lot of
promise in the Premier League last
season, for one reason or another he was
not a regular in Daniel Farke’s starting
team this season. The Daily Express
claimed a few days ago that Spurs could
offer Joe Rodon to Leeds as part of a deal
for the 20-year-old striker in January. The
Lilywhites face Lazio and Roma in Italy’s
international competition.

Spurs for Wilfried Gnonto Calciomercato.it have
now confirmed Roma and Lazio’s
interest in Gnoto, but say Tottenham are
“front and centre” in the race for the
youngster. The report claims Ange
Postecoglou’s men are keen to add a full-
back to their squad and the Lilywhites
rate the Leeds star’s profile “particular”.
The outlet adds that the Championship
outfit would be willing to sell the
versatile striker for €30m (£26m). It is
understood that while this fee would not
be a problem for Tottenham, it would be
too much for Roma and Lazio, who are
likely to consider loan moves. Spur
online opinion Strange enough that
Gnoto is not getting regular starts for
Leeds this season. Perhaps because the
youngster did not want to be at Elland
Road after the club’s relegation.
Postecoglou might fancy his chance to
get the best out of a 20-year-old player
who clearly has plenty of talent.
