Paul Merson now predicts Tottenham’s
result against Aston Villa on Sunday Paul
Merson is backing Aston Villa to get a
point when they travel to Tottenham
Hotspur on Sunday. Merson shared his
predictions for the match with
Sportskeeda and believes Unai Emery
and Ange Postecoglou will have to share
the points. Aston Villa go into Sunday’s
game in North London with confidence
after an exceptional start to the season.
The Villains make up the top five behind
Spurs, with just a point separating the
teams at the moment. Of course,
Tottenham have also enjoyed an
encouraging start to life under
Postecoglou. The north Londoners were
flying high at the top of the table before
defeats to Chelsea and Wolves in the
space of five days. Tottenham Hotspur vs
Chelsea FC – Spurs are also
without James Maddison and Micky van
de Ven through injury, while Cristian
Romero is suspended. Despite missing a
number of key players, Paul Merson
believes they coped well without the trio
at Molineux and backed them to pick up a point against an in-form Villa side.
Merson predicts Tottenham and Villa
Speaking to Sportskeeda, Merson
predicted that Sunday’s game between
Spurs and Villa will end 1-1. “There are
about five Premier League teams fighting
for a place in Europe this season and
Spurs are one of them,” he said. –
Tottenham are still a very good team
with their injuries. “Spurs played well in
that game, apart from those crazy
minutes at the end of the Wolves game. –
As for Aston Villa, with an away record
like theirs, it will be difficult to finish in
the top four. They have to go to
Tottenham and make sure they don’t get
beaten there. “Right now they are putting
too much pressure on themselves to do
everything at Villa Park. But that bubble
will soon burst when the big teams come
to visit. This is a huge result for whoever
wins this game. – The international break
could tie things up a bit and I think
points will be split here. Manchester

Images Spurs have arguably benefited
from the international break, allowing
them to regroup after a chaotic week.
They will also be boosted by the return of
Destiny Udogie as the defender confirms
he is fit after missing out on the Italy
squad with injury. Villa have not been
great away from home and have had a
disappointing defeat away from home
this season. But on current form,
Tottenham face a serious test on Sunday
with their current injuries. We believe
Merson is not far off his prediction and
sees a high-scoring draw on Sunday.
