Guglielmo Vicario has maintained his 100 per cent record of being shortlisted for the Castrol Premier League Save of the Month in his debut campaign with a nomination for November’s award.

This time around, it’s the Italy goalkeeper’s early reaction save to deny Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson in what turned out to be an eventful clash at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 6 November.

Vic’s nominated saves so far this season…

Guglielmo has been shortlisted for Save of the Month in four out of four months so far…

August – tip over from Casemiro’s header from a free-kick in our 2-0 win against United – 19 August

September – another tip over, this time from Burnley’s Lyle Foster in our 5-1 win at Turf Moor – 2 September

October – full-length dive to tip away Palhinha’s powerful header in our 2-0 win against Fulham – 23 October

November – reaction tip away from Nicholas Jackson in our 4-1 loss against Chelsea – 6 November

We were 1-0 up in a breathtakinng first 10 minutes when Chelsea turned over possession and Jackson was sent clear by Raheen Sterling. Jackson raced into the box, turned back inside Micky van de Ven and Pape Matar Sarr and aimed for the bottom corner from eight yards, only for ‘Vic’ to read it and fling himself low down to his left to turn the ball away.

That was one of a number of saves on the night for Vic as we were reduced to nine men and Chelsea, as expected, poured on the pressure in the second half. He wasn’t beaten again until the 76th minute and Jackson added two further goals in injury time.
