Football fans are getting ready for an emotional journey through one of the most remarkable careers in NFL history as Netflix prepares to release The Underdog, a documentary centered on former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

 

According to the fictional announcement, the highly anticipated documentary is scheduled to arrive on Netflix on September 25, giving Saints fans an opportunity to revisit the career, challenges, victories and defining moments that transformed Brees from an underestimated quarterback into one of the most celebrated players in franchise history.

The title, The Underdog, is designed to reflect the theme at the heart of Brees’ story: overcoming doubt and proving that limitations do not necessarily determine a player’s future.

 

Brees entered the NFL with questions surrounding his size and long-term potential. Standing 6 feet tall, he was smaller than the traditional prototype for an NFL quarterback, and his career was not guaranteed to become the legendary story it eventually became.

 

But Brees continued to develop.

After beginning his professional career with the San Diego Chargers, Brees eventually found his way to New Orleans, where his career would change dramatically. His arrival in the Crescent City became one of the most important chapters in Saints history.
