Donny van De Beek suggested a Man Utd escape path that Erik ten Hag won’t appreciate.
Ajax is interested in signing Manchester
United midfielder Donny van de Beek, but
Erik ten Hag’s plan may be thwarted by
their financial limitations.
Harry Kane won’t be returning to the
Premier League, according to Erik ten Hag.
This month, Donny van de Beek might visit
his old team Ajax, but the Dutch club is most
likely only going to offer a loan deal.
The Dutch midfielder, 26, was signed from
Ajax in a £35million deal by Ole Gunnar
Solskjaer back in 2020 but has struggled to
establish himself as a first-team regular at
Old Trafford. Van de Beek has started just
six Premier League matches across three
seasons at the club.
The former Ajax ace played just 10 times for
United during Erik Ten Hag’s debut
campaign in the Old Trafford dugout,
making just four starts, before having to
undergo surgery after suffering a season-
ending knee injury in early January’s three-
goal home win over Bournemouth.
That incident sums up Van de Beek’s
misfortune during his time at United and
came at a time when he was enjoying more
minutes on the pitch due to the club’s hectic
schedule across four competitions. It was a
cruel moment that heightened his
frustrations since joining the club.
Ten Hag is the same coach who utilised him
heavily at Ajax. However, the Netherlands
international has still been a peripheral
figure under the current United boss as he
was under Solskjaer, the coach who signed
him, and interim United boss Ralf Rangnick.
United have been in talks with Real
Sociedad over Van de Beek’s exit, but Ajax
are also now in the running. However, the
Sun report that the Dutch giants are only
able to fund a loan deal due to their current
financial situation.

That is not something of great interest to

transfer fee which they can subsequently
spend on Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.
Ex-Man Utd star’s damning verdict of Andre
Onana as Erik ten Hag decision questioned
Already gone from Old Trafford are David
de Gea, Alex Telles, Fred, Phil Jones, Axel
Tuanzebe and Anthony Elanga, while the
Hammers have already agreed a £30million
fee to land Harry Maguire and have had a
similar bid for Scott McTominay knocked back.
McTominay may yet leave United, who are
reluctant to lose the Scotland international
but would sanction a deal if they can sign
Amrabat, while Eric Bailly, Dean Henderson,
Donny van de Beek and Brandon Williams
may all yet exit Old Trafford.
