**Germany to Honour Motocross Legend Ken Roczen with Statue at National Sports Centre**
Germany is set to commemorate one of its most celebrated athletes, Ken Roczen, by unveiling a statue in his honour at the National Sports Centre in Mattstedt, Thuringia. This tribute recognises Roczen’s remarkable career in motocross and his enduring impact on the sport both nationally and internationally.
The bronze statue, which will be unveiled in a public ceremony later this year, captures Roczen in full racing gear mid-jump—symbolising the fearless spirit and determination that defined his racing style. The initiative is being led by the German Ministry of Sport in collaboration with the German Motorcycling Federation (DMSB).
“Ken Roczen has not only made Germany proud on the world stage but has inspired a new generation of riders through his resilience and passion,” said Sports Minister Claudia Meier. “This statue will stand as a permanent tribute to his legacy.”
Roczen, who hails from Mattstedt, expressed deep gratitude for the honour. “To be recognised in this way, in my hometown, means the world to me. I’ve always carried Germany with me wherever I raced,” he said.
The monument will be placed at the entrance of the National Sports Centre’s motocross division, where young athletes train and compete. A Ken Roczen youth development program is also being launched alongside the statue to foster emerging talent.
With multiple AMA Supercross and Motocross titles to his name, Ken Roczen remains one of the sport’s most iconic figures. This statue ensures that his story continues to inspire for generations to come.
