DONE DEAL: Nick Saban re-signs a 4-year contract with Alabama as the new General Manager. The deal is reportedly worth \$105 million, making it one of the most lucrative management contracts in college sports history.
The agreement includes a guaranteed \$80 million payout, along with performance-based incentives, lifetime healthcare benefits, and an advisory role in the university’s athletics department even after the contract ends.
Saban, who previously retired from coaching in 2024, returns in a strategic front-office capacity, bringing his legendary leadership and recruiting expertise to guide Alabama Football’s future.
“I may not be on the sidelines anymore, but my heart is still with Alabama,” Saban said in a press statement. “This is home, and I’m excited to contribute in a new way to help our student-athletes succeed on and off the field.”
Crimson Tide fans are ecstatic to see their icon remain within the program, with social media erupting in celebration under the hashtag #SabanReturns.
More details on his new responsibilities and Alabama’s long-term vision will be revealed at a formal press conference later this week.
