CONFIRMED: Patrick Carrigan will depart from Brisbane Broncos after 2025 season.

Brisbane Broncos lock and co-captain Patrick Carrigan has officially announced that he will part ways with the club at the conclusion of the 2025 NRL season. The decision marks the end of a significant era for the Broncos, as Carrigan has been one of the team’s most influential figures in recent years.

Carrigan, who debuted with the Broncos in 2019 and quickly rose to prominence through his consistent performances and leadership, said the decision was made after deep reflection and conversations with family and club management. “Brisbane will always have a special place in my heart. It’s been an honour to wear this jersey, and I’m thankful for the journey we’ve shared. I’m excited for what’s next,” Carrigan said in an official statement.

The Broncos expressed their appreciation for Carrigan’s dedication, professionalism, and leadership on and off the field. Head Coach Kevin Walters commended Carrigan’s role in helping shape the team’s culture and competitiveness, describing him as “a true Bronco in every sense.”

Although Carrigan has not disclosed his next move, sources close to the situation suggest both NRL rivals and overseas clubs are vying for his signature, with substantial offers already in discussion.

With the 2025 season now serving as Carrigan’s swan song in Brisbane, fans will have the opportunity to celebrate his contributions and bid farewell to one of the club’s modern greats.
