Cade Mays injury creates major offensive-line concern

Mays was supposed to take over the starting center job after signing a three-year, $25 million contract during the offseason.

Quarterback depth becomes a concern
The Lions also face questions behind Goff after veteran backup Teddy Bridgewater stepped away from the team. That development has increased attention on the backup-quarterback competition, with players such as Luke Altmyer receiving more opportunities.
Goff remains firmly entrenched as Detroit’s starter, but losing experienced depth makes keeping him healthy even more important.
Cornerback situation worth watching
