The Scorpions’ 60th Anniversary Homecoming Concert in Hannover, Germany, This Weekend to Be Recorded for a New Documentary Release

Rock legends The Scorpions are set to celebrate an extraordinary milestone this weekend as they return to their hometown of Hannover, Germany, for a spectacular 60th anniversary concert — and the event will be recorded for an upcoming documentary that promises to capture not only the performance, but the band’s unmatched legacy.

The concert, taking place at the ZAG Arena on Saturday night, marks six decades since the formation of one of rock’s most iconic and enduring bands. Fans from around the world are expected to fill the sold-out venue in what promises to be an unforgettable evening of music, memories, and emotion.

In a press statement released earlier this week, The Scorpions confirmed that the entire show will be professionally filmed and documented as part of a forthcoming film project, which will include exclusive backstage footage, interviews, and never-before-seen archive material chronicling their journey from local band to global rock royalty.

“It’s incredible to be back where it all began,” said lead singer Klaus Meine. “Hannover is where our story started, and we couldn’t imagine celebrating 60 years anywhere else. This concert is our gift to the fans, and we’re thrilled to document it for generations to come.”

The documentary, still untitled, is expected to premiere in 2026 and will coincide with a deluxe reissue of some of the band’s most celebrated albums, as well as a commemorative coffee table book featuring rare photos, tour posters, and handwritten lyrics.

Known for hits like “Wind of Change,” “Rock You Like a Hurricane,” and “Still Loving You,” The Scorpions have remained a constant force in the world of hard rock, with more than 100 million records sold worldwide. The band’s current lineup — Klaus Meine, Rudolf Schenker, Matthias Jabs, Paweł Mąciwoda, and Mikkey Dee — continues to perform to packed arenas across the globe.

Saturday’s concert will feature a career-spanning setlist, special effects, and rumored guest appearances from former band members and rock icons. Fans lucky enough to attend are encouraged to arrive early, as the event will be filmed in high definition for cinematic and streaming platforms.

“This isn’t just a concert — it’s a time capsule,” said guitarist Rudolf Schenker. “Sixty years of music, friendship, and fire. And we’re just getting started.”
