The New Orleans Saints gave fans another reason to look forward to the 2025 NFL season when the organization unveiled its new “Gameday Golds” alternate uniform. The design brings back a color that has a special place in Saints history while giving the franchise a modern look for a new era of football.
The gold jerseys are particularly significant because the Saints had not worn gold jerseys in a regular-season game since 2002. The team’s new version is intended to combine nostalgia with a contemporary design, connecting the franchise’s past with its present and future.
The Saints announced the uniform on July 22, 2025, initially leaving the exact debut date to be revealed later. That announcement generated plenty of excitement among supporters, who have long associated gold with the team’s identity. The uniform was eventually scheduled to make its on-field debut during the Saints’ Week 1 home opener against the Arizona Cardinals on September 7, 2025.
